Frank Cooper, President -Frank has 28 years experience in electrical engineering & executive management, and holds numerous technology patents. Joining Island Technology In July 2009, he was appointed President of Direct Grid Technologies.

Prior to Direct Grid Technologies, Frank was at ZMD America serving as President for 8 years, while being on the Executive Management Board of the parent ZMD AG from 2005. His focus at ZMD was analog mixed signal solutions for automotive, aerospace, commercial & building automation.

As Executive VP Sensing & Director of Business Development at Bowthorpe PLC, a global technology holding company, his career spanned 15 years. He attended London Business School, and was appointed Chairman of the Strategy Leadership Team being the architect of Bowthorpe’s Sensor & Sensing play. The team's six global acquisitions of sensor companies, would become what is now General Electric’s “GE Sensing” jewel.

As President/CEO of Protimeter, he developed and patented cycling chilled mirror hygrometers, smart pressure sensors, and pressure calibration standards,

Earlier, Frank was division manager of Computer Instrument Corp’s Industrial Products Div for 5 years, designing and marketing Industrial, Military and Aerospace sensors and systems. In Biomedical, his work at Medical Systems was on the BH1 infusion controller for drug discovery.
